Important Road Closure Information for Sunday, Nov. 10th, Programs
The 14th Annual Detroit Veterans Day Parade has been moved from downtown to Corktown and it is taking place this Sunday, November 10th, starting at 11:00 AM. The good news is that those not participating will have a parade, 4k run, and flyover to watch! The tricky part is the Teen Street Skills entrance is just within the parade route, which travels around Roosevelt Park in front of Michigan Central Station.
There are major road closures in Corktown starting at 8:00 AM. We have, however, spoken to parade organizers and they are aware that Teen Street Skills will be going on. Parade staff/traffic control working in the area by our entrance will be notified that participants/parents will be coming and going throughout the day. Please plan to arrive coming from the south as Michigan Avenue will be closed from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the area and you will not be able to cross it to get to the Teen Street Skills proving grounds.

NOTE: The easiest way to get to the Teen Street Skills proving grounds is by taking I-75 Exit 47C for Vernor Highway. Turn right onto Vernor Highway and 17th Street is about a 1/2-mile up the road, just after the railroad track tunnel. The entrance on 17th Street will be marked with Teen Street Skills flags and parking signs.

Please let us know if you have any other questions regarding the Sunday program and getting to/from the event. The afternoon session should not be impacted as much, however, please still plan to come from the south.
Thank you and we look forward to a great closing day for the 2019 Teen Street Skills season!
