Please email us at registration@teenstreetskills.org for more information.

Program details

Following a brief introduction, students will be split into two groups of about 15 students. The 3 1/2 hour program is split into two segments covering five main exercises: Emergency Braking, Skid Control, Evasive Lane Change, Car Financial Literacy, and Car Knowledge 2.0.

The first segment involves Emergency Braking and Skid Control exercises, with students switching after 45 minutes. Then there will be a 12 minute game-format activity going over Car Financial Literacy. Next, will be Evasive Lane Change exercises and Car Knowledge 2.0 (with an Officer from Detroit Police Department). The Police Officer will discuss the proper procedures if and when your teen is involved in a traffic stop or accident and will be in full uniform (including weapon). The two groups of students switch after 35 minutes.
